7.5 ft cedar fence down both sides for us and the neighbors. (3 fence lines with gates.) Demo and installation went down in 2 days. Which fence materials hold up best near the Gulf?
Cedar with galvanized steel posts, powder-coated aluminum, and vinyl all perform well in wind and salt air. Which one is right depends on your exposure, your HOA, and your budget — we'll walk your property and recommend the best fit before you commit to anything.
How do you build for coastal wind and soil movement?
Galvanized posts set in concrete footings, pro-grade fasteners, and hardware sized for coastal wind loads. On bayfront and low-lying lots we size footings for the soil we actually find, which on the Bay ranges from sandy to heavy clay within a few blocks.
Do you offer staining and maintenance plans?
Yes. Stain and seal protects against UV and moisture and noticeably extends the life of a wood fence. We also offer seasonal maintenance so re-coat cycles stay predictable instead of becoming an emergency.
Permits, HOAs & Scheduling
Do you handle HOA approvals and permits?
Usually, yes. We confirm setbacks, heights, appearance and HOA style guidelines, then help prepare the simple drawings that get approvals moving quickly.
How soon can I get an estimate in San Leon or League City?
Most on-site assessments are scheduled within 24-48 hours, and you'll receive a written, line-item quote — not a number over the phone.
Gates, Warranty & Scope
Can you build custom gates with openers and keypads?
Yes. We install swing and slide gates with operators, keypads, remotes and smart access, all sized for coastal wind loads. Cedar cladding over a powder-coated steel frame is what keeps a wide driveway gate from sagging.
What does your workmanship warranty cover?
We provide a written workmanship warranty and honor the manufacturer warranties on materials. The specifics are included with every estimate, so you can read them before you sign.
Do you work on commercial property as well as homes?
Yes. Residential, commercial and industrial. Chain link with privacy slats, security gates and bollards are routine work for us alongside residential cedar privacy fencing.

Standard fence was professional, and prompt with installing over 600 of cedar fence. They did not deviate from the time line even with all the rain. This was not your ordinary fence replacement job. They had to find bounary lines, bust through existing concrete slabs. They never skipped a beat.

Standard Fence were absolute professionals. We hired them to completely redo two sides of our backyard due to storm/wind damage, which entailed removal of old broken posts. They answered all questions we had, were timely, kind, and left the work site clean each day. They charge reasonable rates and they cleared out the old fence by putting it out at the curb for heavy trash day.
