Fence company in League City? You probably want three things: a written price you can compare, someone who knows what your HOA will approve, and a fence that is still straight in ten years. That is the job we quote for.
Standard Fence builds residential and commercial fences across League City, from the older streets off FM 518 to the newer sections of Tuscan Lakes and Westover Park. We are a locally owned crew with 15+ years on the Gulf Coast, licensed and insured, and we price by the linear foot with every line itemized. If you are comparing two or three fence companies, that itemized sheet is what lets you compare them honestly.
What League City does to a fence
Most League City yards sit on heavy clay. It swells after a storm and shrinks hard through a dry summer, and every cycle works a post a little looser. Add yards near Clear Creek and the drainage channels that stay wet for days after rain, and a wood post set in that ground stays wet at the grade line and rots from the outside in. That is why so many fences here lean by year five or six. It is rarely the pickets.
Closer to Clear Lake and South Shore Harbour you also get salt air, which eats cheap hardware, and the open wind off the water, which turns a solid privacy fence into a sail. So the money on our quotes goes where those problems are: galvanized steel posts, footings sized to the soil and the exposure, a rot board so pickets are not sitting in the splash zone, and hinges and latches rated for the gate's weight and the wind.
Fences we build in League City
Cedar privacy: board-on-board, shadowbox, horizontal and cap-and-trim. The most common request here, and the one HOAs know best. Board-on-board stays private as the wood dries; our privacy fence page explains why.
Pressure-treated pine: the value option, built on the same post and footing spec as cedar. It needs sealing on a schedule.
Ornamental aluminum and iron: powder-coated, for front yards, golf course and water frontage, and pools, where you want security without losing the view.
Chain link: galvanized or vinyl-coated, with privacy slats if you want them. Side yards, dog runs and commercial lots.
Pool fencing: see below. It has rules the rest do not.
Custom gates: walk and drive gates built on a frame that will not sag, hung square, with hardware sized for the gate rather than for looks.

Pool fences
A pool barrier is the one fence where the code decides the design for you. Expect a minimum height (commonly 4 ft), no footholds on the outside, and gates that are self-closing and self-latching. Ornamental aluminum is the usual answer because it meets those rules and keeps the yard open. Pools are also one of the exceptions to League City's usual no-permit rule, so we confirm the current requirements for your address before we build.
HOAs, permits and the rules that catch people out
HOAs come first. In South Shore Harbour, Tuscan Lakes, Westover Park, Clear Creek, Mar Bella and most other League City neighborhoods the HOA, not the city, decides your height, style and color. We prepare simple drawings for the submission. Get the approval in writing before the build date is set.
Permits. League City lists fences over 7 ft among permit-required work, so most standard 6 ft fences do not need a building permit. Floodplain addresses, pools and easements are the exceptions we check.
Corners. Near certain intersections League City requires a fence to be 70% open so drivers can see. A solid privacy fence on a corner lot is the most common thing we have to redesign.
Property lines. Work from a current survey. We walk the line with you before anyone digs, which is cheaper than a dispute with a neighbor.
811. We call in utility marking before every dig. It is the law, and a cut line is your bill, not just ours.
How a League City job runs
Free site visit and written estimate. We measure, look at the survey and the soil, ask what the fence is for, and price it line by line with posts and hardware itemized.
Approvals and 811. HOA submission, any permit the address needs, and utility marking.
Build and cleanup. Demo and haul-off of the old fence, posts set to depth in concrete, panels plumb, gates hung square. Most back yards take one to three days, and we clean up at the end of each one.
Who we are not the right fit for
If the lowest possible number is the only thing that matters, we will probably not be it: we recommend galvanized steel posts in League City clay, and a bid built on wood posts will usually come in under ours. And if you need a fence up this weekend before your HOA has signed off, we will tell you to wait. Building without approval is how a new fence gets torn down at the owner's expense.

Do I need a permit for a fence in League City?
